Department of Agriculture and Fisheries

Department of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) works to enhance Australia's agricultural, fisheries and forestry industries. It creates new and maintains existing agricultural export opportunities, to provide gains for Australian agriculture. It manages biosecurity risks to Australia to protect the multi-billion dollar agricultural industries and the Australian way of life.

Rural Research Development Corporations

Rural Research & Development Corporations (RDCs)

There are 15 Rural Research & Development Corporations (RDCs) across agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries in Australia. Each one is tasked with delivering tangible and practical improvements for their industries in terms of productivity, profitability, sustainability, and the community. They do this through strategic and targeted investments in and partnerships for research, development and adoption, and in some cases, market access, market development and promotion. Funding for the RDCs combines contributions from industry, usually collected as levies on production, and funding from the Australian Government.

The Rural RDCs help drive agricultural innovation that benefits industry and regional communities. To find out more, click below.
